7:30 am Pick up from your hotel lobby. Drive to the Jiankou Great Wall (2 hours). The adventure begins at Xizhazi village. Once you leave the village, the hike is a decent uphill to reach the ruined tower-Zhengbeilou.
On the way to Zhengbeikou, your guide will lead you on a short nature walk to explore the Little Potala, a broken tower, where you can capture the best views of Jiankou. Take your time and enjoy the views. Due to the need for renovation, the wall is considered one of the most dangerous sections of the Ming wall. The western section of Jiankou is considered one of the most dangerous parts of the wall and is only accessible with the right climbing gear.
However, after many years of renovation, the route for this hike will be much easier after 2025. Most people have no problems with this hike.
If you are unsure about the difficulty of the hike, please check this YouTube video.
We walk west to Heaven Stairs. This hike is flexible based on your energy.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. (Lunch is always late, around 2 to 3 pm)
Drive back to your hotel at about 5 pm
