Itinerary:

In the morning your guide will be waiting for you in your hotel lobby at 8:30 am.

Temple of Heaven where the Emperors prayed for peace and harvest is located in the southern part of Beijing and has been one of the holiest places in the whole country for more than five centuries. It was used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors. You will have the opportunity to see how local people exercise in the morning.

You’ll visit the famous Tiananmen Square which is the largest public square in the world where you can take photos in front of the famous Chairman Mao’s portrait hanging on the red wall of the Heavenly Peace Gate. Your tour guide will introduce the history and some interesting stories about Tiananmen Square.

Later you’ll go through the middle gate of Tiananmen Square where you’ll see a huge red gate that is the Forbidden City also the highlights of today. The Forbidden City was the Chinese majestic imperial palace from the middle of the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Forbidden City is situated in the midst of Beijing city. It has been the palace of the Emperor for nearly five hundred years, and also the ceremony and policy-making heart of Chinese authorities.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Summer Palace this afternoon.
The palace is about 12 kilometers northwest of the city center and is equally as famous as the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace is called “yiheyuan” in Chinese. It is the best preserved and the largest imperial garden in China and one of Beijing’s premier attractions. It is also possible to cruise on the lake which takes 10 minutes by ferry boat (optional).

You will be dropped off at your hotel after the Summer Palace.

What should I take with me on this tour?
It is better to take your passport or a copy with you. There is always a security check around Tiananmen Square. And you may need it if you want to go into Chairman Mao’s mausoleum.

How long is this tour? How long can I stay at each sight?
This tour is about 8 to 9 hours of service. You will have 1 hour in the temple of heaven, 2 hours in Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and 1.5 hours in the Summer Palace. This time make sure you have enough time to see the most important sights and we will make sure you have enough photo stops. But if you want to spend more time in some sights, please contact me for a customized tour service.
