Itinerary:

Our guide will call you the night before the tour to confirm the pickup time. (We may change the start time seasonally)

7:30 am or at your request.
Drive to the Gubeikou Great Wall (2 hours)
The adventure begins gently at Gubeikou village with a short climb up to a broken tower. Walk eastward and enjoy plenty of photography stops before you reach the 24-eye tower.

Then you will lead on a detour since there is the military captures a part of the wall.
You will walk by the Wall in the bush trail down the wall.
After a 1.5-hour walk to get to the Jinshanling Great Wall.

1-hour trek the Jinshanling Great Wall to the best photo place.
Enjoy the most beautiful Sunset view from the Great Wall.
Jinshanling Great Wall is 150 km away from downtown Beijing. It is super beautiful and quiet. It is one of the best places for photographers to take Great Wall photos.

After the tour, your driver and guide will take you to a nice local restaurant for lunch.

If you are hungry during the hike, we also can have lunch at a local farmer’s house.

Drive back to your hotel at about 6:30 pm.

How tough is this hike?
This hike is 12 km. It is not for people who are not very fit. It is better to have some hiking experience or people who always work out.

Hong long is the hike?
Usually, it takes 4+ hours at a moderate speed.

What to take for this hike?
Comfortable shoes or boots are important. We suggest you bring: sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, cap. If you need hike poles, please let me know one day before the tour.

When does the tour have lunch? Is it ok for vegetarians?
Lunch is usually served after the hike around 2 pm. We choose a very nice local restaurant with excellent Chinese food. There is a lot of food suitable for vegetarians. If you are hungry, we can choose to have lunch during the hiking at a local farmer’s house.

How many bottles of water do I need to bring?
Unlimited bottles of water are stored in our car/van, and you need to carry them.

Does the tour happen during the rain or snow?
We only cancel the tour during extreme weather conditions. We can also choose not to hike through 2 sections by letting your driver take you from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and enjoy both the two parts of the wall.

What is the tipping or gratuities policy?
Tips are always appreciated by our guides but never expected. They should be given if you believe your guide did an outstanding job, and further, if you as an individual want to demonstrate your appreciation to the guide for that job well done. Usually, our clients give 50 to 100RMB per person.
