This post is a summary of the weather in February in Beijing, including average temperatures, how much snow to expect, plus tips on what to wear and what to do in Beijing and the Great Wall.

HOW COLD IS BEIJING IN FEBRUARY?

Early in February, afternoon temperatures tend to be mostly in the upper 40s f (6-8 C) while overnight and early morning lows dip into the mid-10s f (-11 to -9 C). A few of the colder mornings can see the temperature dropping into 0 f (-16 to -13 C).

As the month progresses, daytime high temperatures begin to warm up a bit, getting up into the mid-40s F (6-7 C) with a few days reaching into the mid-50s F (12-14 C).

Partly due to these temperatures, February is the cheapest time of year to visit Beijing. However, for some, this could be the very best time to come.

HOW MUCH SUN AND SNOW?

Beijing is very dry, early February is the time we get most of the snow in winter and it is the coldest time of the year.

WHAT TO WEAR IN FEBRUARY IN BEIJING?

March is the month of seasonal transition. Appropriate clothing can make or break a trip, so packing a little extra this month might be sensible for your stay in Beijing.  As the month progresses, spring appears. It’s not a perfect formula, so it’s a good idea to have layers and a warm jacket.

You’ll also want to bring a medium to light jacket for those days when the temperature rises into the 50’s. The temperature will vary from scarves and gloves to skirts and short sleeves.
